Join us for our third Reggae Night of the season, featuring one of Maine’s foundational reggae bands, Zion Train!

One of New England’s most established reggae bands of the early 2000s, Zion Train is once again sharing their roots-influenced vibe and positive message with audiences. Voted Best World Music Act in 2003 in the Portland Phoenix’s reader’s poll, Zion Train has returned in force with their driving rhythms and dynamic live performances. These include a blend of authentic roots-based reggae covers by old school artists such as Bob Marley, Steel Pulse, Alpha Blondy, Barrington Levy, Peter Tosh and many more. Zion Train also plays high energy original songs written by lead singer Mike Taylor (Royal Hammer, The Awesome) who is supported by a cache of veteran musicians, including a rock solid rhythm section in drummer Gary Gemmiti (Rustic Overtones, Royal Hammer) and Nate Soule (Mallett Brothers, Joel Thetford), as well as keyboards from Peter Dugas (Micromasse) and vocals/guitar by Matt Shardlow (State Radio, Useful Idiots). Zion Train are well on their way to re-establishing themselves as one of the preeminent reggae bands in the northeast and one of the good-vibes live acts in the state of Maine.

What does “General Admission” mean?

This is a General Admission event, which typically means all theater seats are removed from the floor to create an open, flexible space, with cocktail tables and barstools added for a more relaxed atmosphere. For this performance, floor seating may or may not be removed — the final setup will depend on audience size and production logistics. Theater seating in the balcony will remain in place and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
