Join us for a free, community-focused Fall fest !

The word is out and you’re invited! We’re throwing a celebration to Fall, called The 2023 Harvest Chill at Vinegar Hill! A free day of family + adult fun centered around all the things that make Fall in New England the best! We’ll have live music all day, an indoor makers market featuring local vendors and businesses, food trucks, seasonal beverages, different activities for the kiddos, face painting, and so much more! Festivities will make full use of our Vinegar Hill property including inside our barn, out in the garden bar, and in the surrounding lots. 

12pm – 1:30pm : Jason Roman (in the barn)

Jason Roman is a singer/songwriter from Arundel who specializes in Contemporary Folk originals and obscure covers. He recently released “In From The Cold”, his first solo album in 22 years. 

1:30pm – 2pm: Kind Kids Music (in the garden)

KindKids Music is a dynamic duo featuring Amanda Panda and Rob Duquette with original music, puppets, and a highly interactive program that shares tools for emotional resilience, fosters kindness, and encourages wellness all while having FUN!

2pm – 3:30 pm: Old Hat Stringband (in the barn)

Old Hat Stringband is based out of Eliot, Maine. Fusing tight vocal harmonies with a propulsive acoustic rhythm section, Old Hat creates a sound that draws from bluegrass, old time, folk, and country traditions. The band is comprised of Whitney Roy (Guitar, Vocals), Steve Roy (Mandolin, Fiddle, Vocals), and Amanda Kowalski (Bass).

3:30pm – 5pm: Darcy Sabin (in the barn)

Americana powerhouse Darby Sabin shares the backwoods beauty of “Folk, Soul and Bluesy Rock n’ Roll from the Foothills of Western Maine” with audiences worldwide. Darby’s songs evoke an emotional journey for all listeners.

The Harvest Chill food truck lineup includes: 

Texas Grace Kitchen 

Featuring an expansive menu of BBQ classics including tacos, sandwiches, sides, and more! 

Bowlicious ME

Sweet and savory bowls featuring local ingredients and items like fried rice and burger bowls, smoothie bowls, and more!

Gemini Cakes

Arundel’s own dessert truck featuring seasonal sweets like apple, pumpkin, and pecan pie gourmet cupcakes, candy apples, cake pops, and more!

Beverages for the festival will be available at three indoor and outdoor bars located throughout the property and include: 

A variety of craft beers from the Newcastle-based brewery, Oxbow Brewing Company, including their seasonal Oxtober Fest, Northern Lager, and Farmhouse Pale Ale! 

Canned hard cider and other local favorites!

Specialty drinks like hot apple cider, apple cider mimosas, and apple cider sangria!

A full bar + non-alcoholic options will also be available!

 

Our Harvest Chill vendor market will be located inside of our historic barn and will feature 20 local makers and businesses from Southern Maine! Items for purchase will include:

  • handmade knit items
  • seasonal decor
  • hand-poured resin items
  • gold-filled and beaded jewelry
  • DIY art-kits
  • engraved glassware
  • quilted items
  • Maine landscape prints
  • stained glass
  • and more!

 

This year, our neighbors at School Around Us, a co-learning community providing full and part-time holistic education to learners 5 – 14, have graciously agreed to spearhead the day’s activities (which can be enjoyed by children and adults, alike!) You can expect:

  • a full Pumpkin painting station, with pumpkins donated by Terrapin Landscapes and Skillins Greenhouses
  • Face painting
  • Fall themed arts & crafts
  • A fall-themed photobooth adorned with props!
