A Spooktacular Halloween Matinee for All Ages!
We’re conjuring up something a little spooky (and a lot of fun) this fall —and we’re thrilled to welcome the maniacal minstrel himself, Doctor Gasp, to the Vinegar Hill stage for a special family-friendly matinee!
Behind the ghostly grin of this ghoulish showman is New England folk artist Dan Blakeslee, delivering a one-of-a-kind set of all-original Halloween songs that are equal parts creepy, catchy, and delightfully off-kilter. Think vintage horror meets campy fun, with musical nods to Bobby “Monster Mash” Pickett, Alfred Hitchcock, John Zacherle, and the unmistakable voice of Paul Frees.
Blakeslee’s alter ego, Doctor Gasp, rises from the shadows each October to serve up an earful of eerie — a haunted blend of theatrical storytelling, throwback cult horror, and timeless Halloween spirit. With tunes oozing with vampires, goblins, and ghosts (plus a few cackles for good measure), it’s a show that casts a spell on kids, grown-ups, and the undead alike.
So dust off your costume a few days early and bring the whole family for an afternoon of spooky singalongs and playful scares — a perfect pre-Halloween treat.
What does “General Admission” mean?
This is a General Admission event, which typically means all theater seats are removed from the floor to create an open, flexible space, with cocktail tables and barstools added for a more relaxed atmosphere. For this performance, floor seating may or may not be removed — the final setup will depend on audience size and production logistics. Theater seating in the balcony will remain in place and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
