Live music from Ben Cosgrove starting at 2pm!
Ben Cosgrove is a traveling composer-performer whose music explores themes of landscape, place, and environment. Described by the Boston Globe as “a sonic plein-air painter… [using] his piano as a paintbrush,” Ben has performed in every U.S. state except for Delaware, collaborated with groups ranging from rock bands to research scientists, contributed music to several radio and film projects (including the recent Ken Burns documentary The American Buffalo), and held residencies and fellowships with institutions including NASA, the National Park Service, the National Forest Service, Harvard University, Middlebury College, the Schmidt Ocean Institute, and the Sitka Center for Art & Ecology. He’s also known locally for his work with many other Maine musicians, including Golden Oak, Caroline Cotter, Connor Garvey, and Ghost of Paul Revere.

Ben’s music has been called “beautiful and fascinating” (The Maine Edge), “deeply impressive” (Independent Clauses), and “immediately evocative and fully arresting… brim[ming] with technical mastery and emotional capital” (Seven Days). His newest record, Bearings, a collection of improvisation-based music that reflects upon the relationship between movement and place, was released in 2023. Our Sunday Chill free music concert series happens every Sunday between June 23rd and September 8th (weather permitting) from 1pm – 5pm at Vinegar Hill Music Theatre in Arundel, ME.

What to expect at our weekly events:

  • FREE live music (starting at 2pm) featuring a lineup of talented local musicians!
  • TWO food trucks – one rotating selection and Kennebunk’s own Treat Truck, specializing whimsical ice cream sundaes, homemade popsicles, and more!
  • Outdoor bar with rotating drink specials!
  • Fully-furnished garden-patio space!
  • Rotating lineup of local makers selling their wares!
  • On-site parking!

Other things to know:

  • This event is ALL-AGES!
  • Well-behaved dogs are allowed on-leash!
  • While we have patio furniture, seating is limited. Please feel free to bring your own camping or beach chair for inside the garden, however, picnic blankets are limited to the front area of our property.
  • This is a fully outside event. Please check for updates on cancellations based on weather on our website and social media pages.
  • Please, no outside food or drink.
  • Food trucks and makers will be set up in our front lot.
  • Live music will happen in our garden patio.
